7 fantasy football waiver wire targets ahead of Week 12

Fantasy football has hit crunch time of the regular season and now, more than ever, a waiver wire pickup could make all the difference for your team.

With that, here are seven wavier wire claims to make in fantasy football ahead of Week 12:

RB Gus Edwards, Ravens

Huge nugget here: Will the Ravens even play? Their COVID-19 concerns are growing daily. But among them so far is JK Dobbins and Mark Ingram so if they do play, as of now, Gus Edwards will get the bulk of the carries this week vs. the Steelers.

WR Michael Pittman, Colts

Michael Pittman appears here once again this week... but he put up another good game so get him while he's hot. In Week 11, he only had three targets, but caught all three and had a touchdown.

WR Russell Gage, Falcons

Julio Jones has been banged up and the next guy in line benefitting from that is Russell Gage. He had 12 targets from Matt Ryan in Week 11, who's one of the NFL's leading passers, and he caught seven of those. Monitor Jones' health this week, though.

RB James White, Patriots

We never really know what's happening with the Patriots backfield, but James White is a consistent fill-in for a week. His season-high in carries came last week... only five... but he still had six catches to prove his fantasy worth. Rex Burkhead is also done for the long-term (most likely), so it's all White in the passing game for the Pats' backfield.

RB Frank Gore, Jets

Lamical Perine is likely out for some time with a high-ankle sprain so Frank Gore is the go-to. Yes, they're winless, but Gore could provide some decent point totals, just don't expect anything huge... it is the Jets.

WR Damiere Byrd, Patriots

Jakobi Meyers was the guy for the Patriots' passing game, but it was Damiere Byrd in Week 11. Byrd had his best game as a pro with six receptions for a career-high 132 yards and one touchdown. He has 16 targets in his past two games as well. It could be a bit of a shootout against the Cardinals this week, too.

Derek Carr is once again on the streaming radar this week. He's had a few big games, but is still out there on plenty of wavier wires. Carr and the Raiders also face the Falcons defense in Week 12, who allow the most fantasy points to opposing QBs this season.
