Architects auction fanciful dollhouses they designed for kids with disabilities
In real life, you're never going to be able to afford a multigazillion-dollar home designed by world-famous architect Zaha Hadid (she of the crazy spaceship house designed for supermodel Naomi Campbell). But if you scale down your ambitions a bit, you might just be able to scrape together enough pennies to bid on a dollhouse designed by Hadid or one of her peers.
An auction of these famous designers' dollhouses will benefit KIDS, a British charity for children with disabilities. Each dollhouse is supposed to contain a feature that makes life easier for a child with a disability (though some designers have interpreted that rather loosely). To give you an idea of the dollhouses' size, each can sit on a base of about 30 by 30 inches.
