A celebrity name doesn’t instantly mean the home is worth more, explains Los Angeles real estate agent Gary Gold.
“In general, the home is only worth more in that it’s a great way to market a home,” he said. “Celebrities just bring a lot of eyeballs to the property.”
Many of these celebrity homes have bounced on and off the market several times, many of them unable to sell because of the recent real estate slump. But with the market heating up, many of these homes may finally have a renewed chance to snag a buyer.
Christina Aguilera’s Beverly Hills home first hit the market in early 2011 after her divorce from Jordan Bratman. The former couple purchased the Mediterranean-style home in 2007 for $11.5 million from Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. Showcased in MTV’s family reality series “The Osbournes,” the home was listed shortly after the show ended for $15.5 million.
Sometimes it takes more than a famous name to get a home to move off the market. These celebrities, just like us, face troubles getting a property to sell. By Erika Riggs, Zillow.com
