Robert Redford has long called Utah home; it’s served as the launch point and now epicenter for the independent film festival Sundance, and it’s where he and wife Sibylle Szaggars own an eco-friendly farm. But like many celebs, Redford has owned several properties over the years, including one in Malibu that hit the market for $15 million.

This isn’t the first time the home has been listed for sale; property records show the home was listed for $16.5 million in May 2012 and received a price cut in November, bringing the price down to $15 million before it was taken off the market until its recent relisting a few days ago.

According to property records, Redford bought the home in 1986, shortly after starring in “Out of Africa” and “The Natural.” He sold the home in 2001 for $5.8 million.

Redford’s former home at 31122 Broad Beach Rd, Malibu, CA 90265 is everything a beach retreat should be. Sitting just steps from the white sands of Broad Beach, the mid-century home has “sweeping” ocean views from many of the rooms. An enormous sliding glass door continues the living room onto the patio, typical of California indoor-outdoor living. Features of the master suite include a fireplace, balcony and spa bath.

The home has been completely remodeled and is now offered “turn-key,” with upgraded appliances and other amenities.

Broad Beach is a coveted and high-end area of Malibu, which boasts a median home value of more than $2 million and rising, and is home to residents including Dustin Hoffman and Steven Spielberg.

Redford’s former home listing is held by real estate agent Sandra Miller of Engel & Volkers Santa Monica.
