The Red Hot Chili Peppers have been busy spicing up the globe with their wildly popular “I’m With You World Tour,” which was briefly postponed in the spring due to a foot injury sustained by frontman Anthony Kiedis.

The tour will wind down in October at which point Kiedis will rest his ailing foot and vocal chords in a newly purchased European-influenced villa in LA.

The Real Estalker reports that the 50-year-old rock star purchased a charming gated mansion for $3.65 million in the Sunset Strip area.

Originally designed by architect F. Pierpont Davis and built in 1940, the 3-bedroom 4-bathroom home has a rich architectural history. Curbed reports that the 2,679-square-foot manse was later re-done by “Hollywood Regency king” John Woolf.

In June 2012, the villa was taken into the hands of another star architect. Waldo Fernandez purchased the home for $2.4 million, worked his renovating magic and then listed the home in May.

Unique features of the home include 14-foot hand-carved ceilings from a cathedral in Europe and a 10-foot solid limestone fireplace. Elaborate vines engulfing the home’s off-white facade add to the authenticity of the European feel.

The brick-lined patio and blue pillars/trim contrast beautifully with the home, creating a luxuriously vintage backdrop to the lush backyard. The pool takes center stage, with paths stemming out to dining areas and a tanning deck.

The interior is marked by custom finishes, including distinctive lighting fixtures and a mural painted on the dining room wall. The outdoor dining terrace provides views of surrounding foliage and the city.

Curbed noted that this home has been in Architectural Digest three times – perhaps its most prestigious recognition was its ranking as “One of the 100 Most Desirable Homes to Own.”

Kiedis has long been successful with his prominent place in the Red Hot Chili Peppers, so it is no surprise that he owns an array of other properties as well. The Real Estalker reports that he also owns properties in Malibu, Kaua’i, Las Vegas, and in his hometown of Grand Rapids, MI.
