Finally, a Home With a Two-Story, Indoor Waterfall

Plenty of homes have large-scale, outdoor waterfall features, flowing into pools and over rocks in backyards. But massive, multi-story indoor waterfalls? That’s not something you see every day.

This fitness-focused New Hampshire house has one though, flowing from the top of the house down through a hole that cuts through two stories. It’s not really a traditional waterfall. That would probably be unbearable — just imagine the crashing din of water and subsequent mist permeating the house. This waterfall is sort of a copper-and-wood water ladder.

It’s not the only unique feature of this somewhat jagged home. Most of the back is covered in glass windows, and there’s also glass floors and glass ceilings spread throughout the house. One hallway is almost all glass.

The home also includes a 50-foot, indoor swimming pool, located in a solarium with retractable roof and heated tile flooring. The pool is cleaned through an ion-exchange system.

The master suite includes a fireplace, sauna and soaking tub, and a fitness room, while another bedroom is slathered in wood on the floor, walls and ceiling.

Outside there’s access to Lake Sunapee on the 2.7-acre property. There’s also a heated paddle tennis court and, for some reason, a German-language fitness course, which is a sort of hiking trail with various obstacles added in.

The home has four bedrooms and five bathrooms, the latter of which are hopefully easily accessible for when the constant running water forces frequent trips to the bathroom.

The home is on the market for $4.95 million. It’s been listed several times over the past two years — never for a dime more or less.
