Megyn Kelly says Donald Trump once tried to ‘woo’ her

Fox News host Megyn Kelly says that before Donald Trump launched his presidential bid, he tried to woo her.
In an upcoming interview with Vanity Fair, Kelly said Trump would occasionally call to compliment her and “would send me press clippings about me that he would just sign ‘Donald Trump.’”
“I didn’t know why he was doing that,” Kelly continued. “And then when he announced that he was running for president, it became more clear. But I can’t be wooed. I was never going to love him, and I was never going to hate him.”
In August, Kelly made headlines for her performance as moderator of the first Republican presidential debate when she called out Trump for his history of misogynistic comments.
“You’ve called women you don’t like fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals,” Kelly said. “You once told a contestant on ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ it would be a pretty picture to see her on her knees. Does that sound to you like the temperament of a man we should elect as president?”
“Honestly, Megyn, if you don’t like it, I’m sorry,” Trump replied. “I’ve been very nice to you, although I could probably maybe not be based on the way you’ve treated me.”

Trump subsequently complained that both Kelly and Fox News were treating him unfairly, and he later lashed out — suggesting Kelly had “blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever” during the debate.
But, according to Kelly, she almost didn’t get the chance to grill Trump.
The morning of the debate, she got “violently ill,” and later moderated with a blanket over her legs and a vomit bucket by her side.
“I would have crawled over a pile of hot coals to make it to that debate,” Kelly told the magazine. “No one was going to be sitting in for me, reading my questions.”
