John Oliver mocks Donald Trump with #MakeDonaldDrumpfAgain

Donald Trump has been compared to plenty of things — a spoiled brat, a carnival barker, Mussolini. But HBO’s John Oliver says the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination is “America’s back mole.”

“It may have seemed harmless a year ago,“ Oliver said on “Last Week Tonight” Sunday. “But now that it has gotten frighteningly bigger, it is no longer wise to ignore it.”

“I get it, he’s unpredictable and entertaining,” Oliver continued. “Donald Trump can seem appealing until you take a closer look, much like a lunch buffet at a strip club, or the NFL, or having a pet chimpanzee. Sure, it seems fun, but some day Coco is going to tear your f***ing limbs off.”

And Oliver is not ignoring Trump, launching a website that highlights an odd surname in the Trump family tree: DonaldJDrumpf.com.

The accompanying hashtag — #MakeDonaldDrumpfAgain — was trending on Twitter early Monday. The brash billionaire has yet to respond to Oliver’s stunt.

Last year, Oliver said he had no interest in Trump’s candidacy.

“I don’t really care about him in any capacity,” Oliver said on “CBS This Morning” in late October. “I’ve really got nothing to say to him. He’s said everything he wants to say. He’s got no internal monologue, that man. It’s not like you’re going in to find the secret nugget he’s been holding back.”

“He’s an open book,” Oliver continued. “And that book doesn’t have that many interesting words in it.”

The real estate mogul fired back, claiming that he had turned down an invitation to appear on Oliver’s “very boring and low rated” show.

But Oliver’s people say they did no such thing.

“A couple of points,” read a tweet from the “Last Week Tonight” Twitter feed. “1. Yes, we have a boring show. 2. At no point did we invite Donald Trump to appear on it.”
