Donald Trump to live-tweet Democratic debate ‘even though I expect it to be a very boring two hours’

Despite predicting that the first Democratic debate will be so boring viewers will “fall asleep,” Donald Trump is planning to live-tweet it anyway.

“At the request of many, and even though I expect it to be a very boring two hours,” Trump informed his 4.4 million followers on Tuesday, “I will be covering the Democrat Debate live on twitter!”

The Republican frontrunner’s running commentary will also appear on his Facebook page.

Hillary Clinton, for one, welcomed the news. “Glad you’ll be watching,” Clinton tweeted. “Its going to be ‘huge.’”

Trump doesn’t think so.

“I think it’s not gonna be highly rated,” the real estate mogul said Monday. “I think it’s going to be, you’re gonna watch it for 10 or 15 minutes, and people are gonna get bored and turn it off.”

Trump’s bombastic presence in the primetime GOP debates has resulted in record ratings for both Fox News and CNN.

The first, hosted by Fox News on Aug. 6, drew 24 million viewers — the highest-rated non-sports cable broadcast in television history. The second debate, hosted by CNN on Sept. 16, drew 23 million — a record for the cable news network.

“I don’t think they’ll do great,” the real estate mogul and former “Celebrity Apprentice” star told “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday. “I think people are going to turn it on for a couple of minutes and fall asleep.”

Trump’s plan to live-tweet the debate isn’t new in this presidential cycle.

During the Republican debates, Clinton and Democratic rival Bernie Sanders hosted watch parties and responded to the GOP talking points on their respective Twitter feeds. The Vermont senator even invited his followers to watch the debate along with him using the hashtag #DebateWithBernie.

But Sanders said the second Republican debate was “so painful” he had to turn it off.

“I have to say, I couldn’t go on the full three hours,” Sanders told CNN. “I gave up after two and a half.”

Some of Trump’s followers pledged not to watch the Democratic debate but the real estate mogul’s Twitter feed instead — and Trump, naturally, retweeted them.
