Ben Carson not in favor of aborting Hitler

Drawing a clear distinction to Jeb Bush on the issue of killing baby Adolf Hitler, Ben Carson says he would not advocate traveling back in time to abort the evil dictator’s fetus, given the opportunity.

“I’m not in favor of aborting anybody,” Carson said when asked the suddenly popular question by a sports blogger following Tuesday’s Republican presidential debate in Milwaukee.

The retired neurosurgeon’s position on the kill-baby-Hitler issue comes just days after Bush said he would gladly snuff out the future leader of the Third Reich.

“Hell yeah I would!” the former Florida governor told the Huffington Post. “You gotta step up, man.”

Bush said he first fielded the question via his campaign email address, jeb@jeb.org.

“It said, ‘If you could go back in time and kill baby Hitler, would you? I need to know,’” Bush explained.

The GOP hopeful acknowledged that, like those Michael J. Fox movies, such an action “could have a dangerous effect” on the space-time continuum.

“But I’d do it,” Bush said. “I mean, Hitler.”

On this issue, Bush isn’t alone. Last month, New York Times Magazine posed the kill-baby-Hitler question to readers, and 42 percent said they would, compared with 30 percent who said they would not.
