Pregnancy — and even post-pregnancy — fashion can be totally awkward. But this week, FABLife stylist and (Yahoo Style editor-in-chief) Joe Zee helped dress three women who didn’t want to sacrifice looking good for comfort.

STORY: I Hated Being Pregnant and I Won’t Apologize for It

“Are you guys ready to see the new hot mamas?” Zee asks during the segment just before introducing his three makeover subjects: Susana, who at four months pregnant is in that awkward stage between regular and maternity clothes; Vi, who is just over seven months pregnant and craving a more put-together look; and Alicia, six months postpartum and longing to wear a sexy pair of jeans.

STORY: The Real Reason It’s So Hard to Lose Pregnancy Weight

Susana went from a ho-hum horizontal-striped sweater to a stretchy LBD and black cape with sparkly edging. “Just because you’re expecting doesn’t mean you can’t have a little bit of glamour in your life,” Zee notes.

Vi, who started out in some stretchy black pants and a white sweater was given a look that popped: a red cardigan, a black-and-white striped skirt, and bright red pumps. As Zee points out, “Most expecting moms don’t realize that a pencil skirt with stretch is a great reach-for alternative, and a great knit sweater is the easiest thing that will give you a bit of stretch and really still look polished.”

As for Alicia? She got her sexy-jeans look, and took on a confident strut to prove it. “I feel fabulous,” she says.
