The Kid in That Viral Post-Dentist Video: Where He Is Today

In 2008, 7-year-old David DeVore, woozy from anesthesia after a dentist appointment, innocently asked his dad esoteric questions like, “Is this real life?” and “Is this gonna be forever?” His dad, David Sr., caught the hilarious moment on his Flip Cam (remember those?) and put it on YouTube. Fast forward to today, nearly eight years later, and “David After Dentist” has more than 131 million views and is still one of the most memorable viral hits to ever grace the network.

“When I saw how he was [after the dentist], I was like, ‘I’ve got to [record] this.’ I just started rolling and I got lucky,” David Sr. told “Babies Behaving Badly,” a reality series that premiered in August on Discovery Family Channel and recently featured the now 14-year-old viral star and his family.

“I was pretty surprised at how big it got,” said David, who just started his freshman year of high school and is on the football team. “I wasn’t expecting it. But I still like it because of what it’s done. I’ve [gone to] Los Angeles [to] meet Daniel Tosh and Jimmy Kimmel. I’ve also gone to Brazil.”

And now he’ll go down in Internet history. Catch up with David in “Babies Behaving Badly” on Friday, Sept. 11, at 8 p.m. ET on Discovery Family.
