Rare Look at Tiger Woods' Kids

It was a family affair for Tiger Woods during the Par 3 contest on Wednesday afternoon, held the day before the 2015 Masters.

The golfer had two very special caddies: His daughter, Sam, 7, and son Charlie, 6, with ex wife Elin Nordegren. Also in attendance: Woods’ girlfriend, Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn.

The four-times Master champion posted a sweet message on Twitter Wednesday:  "I’ll always have memories of my pop at Augusta and now Sam & Charlie. An amazing day.“

Woods announced on Tuesday that his kids would be in attendance.

"My two little ones are going to be out there with me,” he told the Associated Press. “It’s special. As I said, this tournament means so much to me in so many different ways.”

“Charlie has seen me win a golf tournament before. Sam, actually she was there at the U.S. Open in 2008, but doesn’t remember it,” added Woods. “It’s nice to be able to share these things with my family and it just means the world to me. They are excited, I’m excited and can’t wait to go out there.”

Woods had no intention of winning the Par 3. Legend has it that no golfer wins that and then the Masters. He even told ESPN his goal of the day was to “have fun, enjoy and don’t win.” Woods disqualified himself by letting his daughter, Sam, play one hole, the New York Daily News reports.

Last year, Woods and his kids watched the Par 3 on television, and he told Sam and Charlie that maybe they’d get a chance to play this year – not thinking they’d follow up on that.

“They started bringing it up,” Woods said. “Charlie plays a little bit. Sam tells us when we mess up a little bit.”

The golfer said he and his family “had an absolutely great time. These were memories for a lifetime.”

In 2009, less than a year after Charlie was born, Woods was embroiled in an infidelity scandal. Woods and Nordegren finalized their divorce in 2010. Woods and Vonn have been dating for two years.
