With #NoShameParenting, Yahoo Parenting takes the pressure off by featuring families around the country who share their inspiring, funny, honest, and heartbreaking stories in an effort to spark conversation, a little compassion, and change the way we think about parenting forever.

After a Twitter user attacked Kim Kardashian for her weight, the reality star silenced the commenter with a simple response that has since gone viral.

The exchange took place during an airing of Keeping Up With the Kardashians on Sunday night. The expecting mom, who is reportedly due with a baby boy this month, was tweeting throughout the episode, so when she was shown on camera eating sweets in the City of Light, she wrote: “Of course I had to fly to Paris for fashion and food!!!!”

One Twitter user wrote back: “al u think about is food fat b–ch” [sic], and instead of getting defensive or attacking the user or even just ignoring the comment, Kardashian responded with one perfect word: “Yup!”

Her response was a hit online, where it was retweeted more than 50,500 times and received more than 53,000 likes. Wrote one fan: “Love your attitude toward the haters! Don’t let them get to you! So not worth it!”

Kardashian tweeted a few other messages in praise of food that evening: “I love how [Olivier Rousteing, creative director of Balmain] just gets me! He will take a break from designing to eat churros with me!!! #bffs.” And when one user wrote “This episode of @KimKardashian just taking a trip to eat good food, that’s what I’m talking about. So something I would do #NoShame,” Kardashian responded with a simple: “No shame in my game!!!!”

It seems Kardashian has taken a different approach to her body image with her second pregnancy, embracing her shape and being honest about the complicated relationship between food, pregnancy and weight. Last month, she revealed that she’d gained 52 pounds with six weeks to go. “I’ve got my work cut out for me!” she tweeted, accompanied by three flexing bicep emojis.

Kardashian has also admitted to feeling more confident in her body, and her style, with her current pregnancy. “This time around, I know what I like — plus, I am confident and not trying to hide my bump. I actually want to accentuate it,” she wrote in an October post on her website. “It’s such a trip how your body grows and changes, and at the end of the day, you have to wear what you are comfortable in and what you feel good in.”

Kardashian added in that post that she has actually gained more weight during her second pregnancy, even though she feels better. “I actually am a few pounds heavier this pregnancy than my last, yet somehow I look so different,” she wrote. “Maybe it’s because you carry a boy differently than a girl, maybe it’s because I don’t have the swelling that I had last time when I had preeclampsia, or maybe it’s because I am confident in my style and know what to expect.”

Dr. Robyn Silverman, body image expert and author of Good Girls Don’t Get Fat: How Weight Obsession Is Messing Up Our Girls And How We Can Help Them Thrive Despite It, says that celebrities who take on body-positive messages are role models. “I think it’s great when celebrities embrace their pregnant bodies, celebrating the life that is on the way and the gorgeous vessel that carries it,” Silverman previously told Yahoo Parenting about Kardashian’s newfound confidence. Still, she said, she wishes that same attitude could persist on the flipside, when the “post-baby body” pressure is at its height. “There is a lot more work to be done in the acceptance of the post-pregnancy bodies that often seem hidden or criticized if not exercised and starved to ‘pre-pregnancy weight’ before seen in public. Women must be embraced throughout the pregnancy process — which includes post-pregnancy. I would love to see celebrities weigh in more on body love at that time, not just while they have their baby bump.”

In response to the troll who tried — but failed — to knock Kardashian down, the star did address the post-baby body pressure. “I am soooo not worried about my weight and what others think,” she tweeted. “I am confident in my bounce back game lol.”
