Mom Searching For the Hero Who Saved Her 10-Month-Old Son

For one mom to a 10-month-old boy, an afternoon that took a terrifying turn when her son had a seizure ended happily because of the heroics of a mystery man.
Jesika Palmer was in the car with her son, Gunner, on Friday afternoon when the little boy suddenly started having a seizure. “His eyes rolled back and everything just started to shake and he tensed up and he started to shake his hands. He just wasn’t responsive,” the Virginia Beach mom told WTKR. “I thought it was the end. I didn’t know what to do. All I could do was scream for someone to help my child. It was the scariest thing I’ve ever been through in my life.”

At the time of the seizure, which she first spotted in her rear view mirror, Palmer was waiting at a stoplight. Luckily, a man at a gas station across the street heard her cries for help and immediately rushed to her aid. “He stopped to do something that he didn’t have to do. He took the time to care for a complete stranger and take control of a situation that I couldn’t handle,” Palmer tells Yahoo Parenting. “The world needs more people like this man.”
After calming Palmer down, the stranger got in Palmer’s car with her, drove Gunner to Patient First urgent care center, and contacted Palmer’s family. But as soon as her family arrived, the man disappeared, and Palmer never got his name.
It turned out that Gunner’s seizure was caused by a high fever from pneumonia. He’s out of the hospital now, and recovering, thanks to the kindness of a stranger. “This man saved my son,” Palmer says. “There are no words that can truly describe how thankful I am. I could never repay the kindness that he showed me.”

The man was in his late 40s, over six feet tall, and driving a dark Jeep Wrangler, Palmer says. He was with a woman and child who Palmer assumes were his family.
Though Palmer is trying to find this local hero, she says that even if she never reconnects with him, she already knows the kind of person he is. “He was kind, loving and genuine. It’s not often you see that in a person within the first five minutes of meeting them,” she says. “He was a blessing!”
