A message posted on the official Duggar Facebook page reads, “We are so thankful for a healthy Mom and baby! Love this sweet baby Israel! We are happy grandparents and we promise more pictures soon!”

Israel arrived more than a week late. As recently as last Friday, Duggar was tweeting about her tricks to put herself in labor.

“I have told myself, ‘First-time moms often go a week and a half over, so don’t get discouraged,’” Duggar – who is training to become a midwife herself – told People, adding that she was keeping two due-dates for herself: March 24 and April 5.

Duggar thought the baby could arrive on Easter, but he came a few days later. (Instagram)

“When everyone else is asking you, 'When are you going to have that baby?’ The baby will come when the baby comes,” added the 19 Kids and Counting star.
