A mom of three who says she “ballooned” to 260 pounds after she had her second child has lost an incredible 120 pounds, all so she can be a more present wife and mother, she says.

Sarah Beasley, 27, is a stay-at-home mom in Fort Benning, Ga. Now 140 pounds, her weight loss is featured in People’s “Half Their Size” issue, which is on newsstands now. “Everyone in my family was big,” Beasley told the magazine, but her weight issue really got serious when her husband, Michael, was deployed with the military. “I stayed up late, all sad, and I’d eat a whole can of chocolate icing.”

But Beasley got a wake-up call one day while she was spending time with her family. “I finally changed when I took my kids [Kaelyn, 8, Haylee, 6, Braylon, 4] to the park and I had to sit down because I was so tired,” she said.

That one moment changed her life. “That was my breaking point,” she told “GMA.” “I wanted to be a better mom and a better wife.”

So Beasley started working out, waking up at 5:30 am to do a 30-minute Beachbody home workout, and traded in her chocolate ice cream for carrots and sweet potatoes. In the first eight months, she lost 50 pounds, and her journey continued from there. The mom, who stays hydrated with five large bottles of water a day and loves ground turkey as a source of protein, says that today she’s the mom she wants to be. “Things are so different now,” she says. “We go on hikes as a family or play baseball in the yard. Life is so much better.”
