Dad's Accidental Selfie Video Doesn't Stay in Vegas

Joseph Griffin screwed up big time when it came to recording his dream vacation to Las Vegas, but hey, at least he got a viral video out of his mistake. The Irishman brought his son’s GoPro camera stateside so he could film the sights to show his friends and family back home—only Griffin managed to record his confused-looking face instead of the sights, per the Telegraph and Irish Post.

In a four-minute video, a shirtless Griffin can be seen staring in the direction of the camera while exclaiming about the view from his hotel room. “Look at that … It’s stunning,” he says, believing the camera is showcasing the view out the window. “There’s the Trump Tower, same color as his hair,” he adds.

The footage later captures Griffin walking backward into a glass door, impersonating Forrest Gump, calling himself “the tourist everybody hates,” and even getting a brief glimpse of the sights when he apparently thinks he’s taking a selfie.

“Gave my dad my GoPro while he was in Las Vegas,” Griffin’s son, Evan, writes on YouTube. “I did not, however, instruct him on how to use it, so my dad being my dad … didn’t know which way to point the [expletive] thing."

The video has now been viewed more than 4 million times, including by someone at GoPro. "Classic dad move! What happens in Vegas, doesn’t always stay in Vegas,” the company says in a comment. (This burglar made a similar mistake.)
