The surprises just keep coming for Arkell Graves, whose wife famously took his breath away with her adorable pregnancy announcement to him in the form of literal buns in the oven that went viral on YouTube last month. “Dana is ecstatic about her new baby,” the new mom’s sister, Melanie Griffin-Hamlin, tells Yahoo Parenting. “At 16 weeks early, it is a miracle and the medical staff call him a fighter, while our family call him our blessing.”

Nevertheless, it’s been a bumpy road to parenthood for the Dinwiddie, Virginia duo, who had been trying to conceive for 17 years, and endured four miscarriages and one stillborn baby, before she discovered she was pregnant and due in February.

Less than a month after Griffin-Graves posted the heartwarming footage of her husband’s reaction to the news (which has been viewed a whopping 9.7 million times on YouTube since she uploaded it Sept. 25), she was rushed to the hospital.

A post on Arkell & Dana’s Baby Bun Facebook page Sunday revealed that Griffin-Graves was “still in the hospital in critical care. Please keep her and ‘Baby Bun’ in your prayers. She is almost 23 weeks along.” By Tuesday evening Arkell shared, “Today, our baby will have to be delivered, at 24 weeks and one day. As Dana is in critical care, her body has endured all it can take.”

So it was with pure joy that Griffin-Hamlin gave her update on Wednesday. “Dad is on cloud nine and spent most of yesterday by Kaleb’s bedside, while mom rested,” the aunt tells Yahoo Parenting. “Dana and Kaleb are doing great!”
