ZEELAND — The leaves are changing. The air is getting cooler. It’s time again for Pumpkinfest.

With a wide range of events slated during the two-day festival on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 7-8, Zeeland's Pumpkinfest will help the city celebrate turning 175.

Each year, local families, church groups and businesses devote their time painting and decorating wooden structures to coincide with the Pumpkinfest theme. These art pieces are then displayed along Main Street. The pieces this year are filled with the rich history of Zeeland.

Church Street, meanwhile, will be home to Kidzfest. From face painters to a petting zoo, inflatable obstacle courses, pumpkin carving, food vendors, barrel train rides, hayrides and stage performances, there's something for everyone.

The community is also invited for free donuts and cider at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Both days will feature live music from the Music on Main series.

The much-anticipated Pumpkinfest Parade will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday. The parade will include marching bands, horses, walking groups, tractors and businesses celebrating the city's birthday.
