Calvin Kattar will co-headline a fight on his home turf. Kattar will take on Zabit Magomedsharipov in a featherweight bout at UFC Fight Night on Oct. 18, UFC president Dana White told Brett Okamoto of ESPN on Tuesday.
The fight will take place at TD Garden in Boston. The 31-year-old Kattar is from Massachusetts. Since joining the UFC, Kattar has gone 4-1. Kattar last fought in June, knocking out Ricardo Lamas in the first round to earn the victory.
He’ll take on Magomedsharipov, 28, who is considered a rising star in the sport. The Russian fighter has a perfect 5-0 record since joining UFC in 2017. In his last fight, which took place in March, Magomedsharipov defeated Jeremy Stephens by unanimous decision.
