Youth airlifted after falling off wagon at Meeker County tree farm

Nov. 29—LITCHFIELD — A six-year-old child was airlifted for injuries suffered after falling off a trailer and being run over by it at a tree farm in Forest City Township of Meeker County on Friday.

The youth was riding on the trailer with his parents and friends when he fell off it around 3:50 p.m. at the tree farm on the 67000 block of Minnesota Highway 24, according to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office.

The youth was airlifted to the Hennepin County Medical Center with internal injuries. The extent of the injuries was not known, but not believed to be life-threatening, according to the Sheriff's office.

The trailer and vehicle were privately owned and operated. No employees of the business were involved with the incident. No one else was injured. The Sheriff's office stated the matter is deemed an accident.

The Meeker County Sheriff's Office, Litchfield Rescue and Fire, May Ambulance, and Life Link Helicopter responded to the scene.
