Get ready to spend more time with the Duttons of old. “1923” has been renewed for a second season, Paramount announced Friday morning. The renewal comes just days before the show returns to Paramount Plus on Sunday after a mid-season break.

Created by Taylor Sheridan, “1923” is the second prequel show set in the world of “Yellowstone,” following the Dutton family during the Great Depression and Prohibition. “1883,” the first prequel show following even older Duttons, aired in 2021.

“1923” stars Harrison Ford as Jacob Dutton and Helen Mirren as the family matriarch Cara Dutton. Other cast members include Jerome Flynn as Banner Creighton, James Badge Dale as John Dutton Sr. and Marley Shelton as Emma Dutton.

“1923” landed on Paramount Plus on Dec. 18, 2022, airing four episodes before taking almost a month long break. The final four episodes will air over the month of February, with the season finale set for Feb. 26.

The “1923” renewal is the first time a “Yellowstone” spinoff show has been renewed for additional seasons. “1883” had only one season, but will get a spiritual second season in the form of “Bass Reeves.”

“Reeves” will follow David Oyelowo as the titular real-life lawman as he navigates the west as the first Black deputy U.S. marshal west of the Mississippi River. Filming is already underway on the series, with production slated for Fort Worth, Weatherford, Waxahachie and Glen Rose.

In addition, the flagship show “Yellowstone” is midway through its fifth season on the Paramount Network. The show has been on a mid-season break since January, but will return sometime this summer.
