Pre-orders for the Xbox Series X and Series S have opened and the new consoles are selling out fast.

The initial shipment of the consoles, which are set for release 10 November, were snapped up in less than two hours, according to Techradar.

However, the option to pre-order is still available at some stockists, although we don’t think these will last long.

So, what can we expect from the new consoles?

Features

Following the news that Playstation 5 is available for pre-order, Microsoft released its two new Xbox consoles for pre-order: Xbox Series X and Series S.

The Xbox Series X boasts 4K resolution and 120 FPS (frames per second), which makes for top quality visuals.

It offers 8k HDR (High Dynamic Range) gaming and the development kit ensures the device loads quickly.

Another exciting feature is the 3D Spatial Audio, which delivers lifelike sounds for a realistic gaming session.

Plus, it comes with a wireless controller for ease and comfort.

The Xbox Series S has been described as the “smallest Xbox ever”.

This small and compact model boasts some of the same specifications as Series X, such as 120 FPS, 3D Spatial Audio and a wireless controller. But it doesn’t have 4k resolution and it also doesn’t have a disc drive.

However, it is slightly more affordable than the Series X.

Xbox Series X retails for 449, while Series S costs £249.

Although the next-gen gaming devices have sold out on pre-order at some retailers, they are currently available at other stockists.
