I didn’t think that this would come so early in his retirement from professional hockey, but someone has to say it: Roberto Luongo really needs to find something to do with all of his newly-acquired time.

While the 40-year-old has joked about it himself on Twitter, there’s only so many corny videos I’ll be able to see the NHL’s third-winningest goaltender in history be a part of before I truly feel bad for the guy.

Before WWE 205 Live on Tuesday night, Luongo was found backstage by the Singh Brothers, who decided they’d attempt to add him to their team.

Honestly, the result is difficult to watch.

Although I’m more than aware that wrestling and the “entertainment” it provides is filled with over-the-top acting and weak scripts, all 101 seconds of this video should make spines tingle. And I’m not talking about the good way.

While their names in the ring are Sunil and Samir Singh, Gurvinder and Harvinder Sihra are originally from British Columbia — the same province that Luongo played nearly a decade in while with the Vancouver Canucks.

Just because there’s a geographical connection between people, doesn’t mean there will be one when the camera begins recording, though.

Luongo’s getup, however, turned out pretty damn good.

Maybe a solo WWE career is still on his horizon, after all.
