ME AND THE PEEK-A-BOO PALACE

I have an appointment coming up at the

surgery center

I tell my family, I have a reservation

at the Peek-a-boo Palace, in jest

I have a colonoscopy scheduled, my

second exciting trip

My first one was eight years ago, everything

was fine, exploratory is next

I’m sure the doctor will fix any

problem that might be found

And the supporting crew is skilled

and very friendly

We all know exploratory tests are

important

and I’m expecting the best again, at the

Peek-a-boo Palace, for me.

A LIMERICK

There once was a janitor named Jim

Who cleaned every floor given him

But when he retired

He said, "I'm required

To scrub, mop and sweep to keep trim."

ENGLAND'S PEPPERED MOTHS

The white moths, so beautiful and frail,

Knew better than some how not to fail.

When factory smoke darkened the land

Making them stick out like something grand,

Bright against their dark backgrounds each day,

Turning them all into easy prey -

They dwindled, but survived long enough

To change their genetic color stuff

To make them almost as dark as sin

So with their background to blend right in.

Now that factories are much cleaner,

They have restored their old demeanor

And are bright beneath the sun-lit sky,

Beauty to behold by ev’ry eye.
