Wonsowskis celebrating golden anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth L. Wonsowski of Monroe are observing their golden wedding anniversary today.

A reception will take place today at Quatro’s.

Mr. Wonsowski married Elizabeth (Beth) Conner Nov. 27, 1971, at Immaculate Conception Church in Milan.

The couple has two sons, Jason (Carol) and Jim, both of Michigan, and three grandchildren.

Mr. Wonsowski, a graduate of Cabrini High in Allen Park, received an associate’s degree in criminal law from Washtenaw Community College, later furthering his studies at Eastern Michigan in Ypsilanti. He was employed by AAA of Michigan for 38 years, retiring July 1, 2008. For the next five years he was a paralegal for the law firm of Lee Steinberg. He enjoys woodworking, photography and computers. He is a member of the board of Directors for the Southpointe Homeowners Association.

Mrs. Wonsowski, a 1969 graduate of Milan High, earned an associate of applied science degree from Washtenaw Community College. She trained at the University of Michigan Dental School and was employed as a certified dental assistant with Dr. Robert Meyers, Ann Arbor. Upon moving to Monroe, she was employed the by Monroe Health Department and later the Friend of the Court. She retired in June, 2009 after 26 years with the county. She is member of St. Mary Catholic Church and past president of St. Mary’s Christian Women, after serving for six years. She enjoys sewing and spending time with their grandchildren.

The couple hopes to continue their travels, locally and abroad.
