WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Hawks rally from 13-point deficit to take 65-59 win

Nov. 27—PHOENIX — UND rallied in the final quarter to take a 65-59 win over Manhattan on Saturday in the second day of the Grand Canyon Thanksgiving Classic.

UND improved to 3-3 with the win. Manhattan dropped to 2-4.

The Fighting Hawks closed the game on a 16-2 run. The Hawks trailed 57-49 when they began their run and trailed by 13 at one point.

Kacie Borowicz again led UND, scoring 16 points. The senior, who has led UND in scoring in every game this season, also recorded a team-high six assists, grabbed five rebounds and two steals while playing all 40 minutes.

Joli Daninger added 15 points while Juliet Gorder finished with a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. It was the second double-double of her career.

UND trailed by eight points with 3:45 to play. Daninger and Borowicz started the comeback by scoring two baskets to cut the lead in half. Claire Orth's basket off an offensive rebound left UND trailing 57-55 with 2:19 to go.

The Hawks then forced back-to-back turnovers, leading to four points and their first lead since the first quarter.

UND then sealed the win with its free-throw shooting. The Hawks hit 21 of 23 from the line.

UND will host Wisconsin-Superior on Friday night.
