A woman in upstate New York recently reeled in an unusual catch, and a photo of the atypical creature has thousands of people on Facebook trying to make sense of it.
Debbie Geddes told Fox News that she was fishing in Lake Champlain with her husband when she pulled in a fish that appeared to have two mouths.
"When this particular fish bit, it felt like I had a nice fish on," she said. "I actually commented, 'I hope it's as big as it feels!' When we got it in the boat, I couldn't believe what I was seeing! Two mouths! And yet this fish was healthy and thriving! Pretty amazing!"'

Geddes reportedly took several photos of the fish before releasing it. She then shared one of the photos with her coworker, Adam Facteau, who, in turn, posted it on a Facebook page belong to Knotty Boys Fishing, a competitive fishing team.
"She wasn’t convinced anyone would care about the catch," he said. "“I knew it would be popular."
The post has since gone viral, with more than 7,000 people sharing it and over 1,000 people commenting on it as of Thursday afternoon.
"I just can't believe all the attention this has received," Geddes said. "The public's responses/theories are quite interesting, to say the least. I personally believe it was caused by a previous injury, most likely from another angler."
Other people have jokingly speculated that the fish was deformed due to sewage in the water.
"Is it raw sewage or nuclear run off that’s being dumped?" one person asked.
"This is why I don’t eat anything that comes out of the lake and we don’t swim in the water," another commented.
Despite the many theories behind the fish's strange appearance, Facteau said he knows one thing for certain.
"Regardless, it’s a catch of a lifetime and has a lot of public opinions," he said.
