Woman catches cheating husband after reading a restaurant review

An anonymous woman in Virginia says that a review for Trummer's Restaurant in the Washington Post revealed her husband's affair.

Tom Sietsema, the Post's food critic, was participating in an online Q&A on Nov. 27 when the unnamed woman wrote a post under the title, "Thanks Tom." She told Sietsema that the photo paired with his most recent review featured her husband in the background, having dinner with another woman.

“Well Tom your latest review is accompanied by a picture of my husband dining with a woman who isn’t me!” the woman wrote. “Once confronted with photographic evidence, he confessed to having an ongoing affair.”

“Please, please, please tell me this is a crank post. I’d hate to learn otherwise,” Sietsema replied.

While Sietsema was not sure which review the writer was referencing, it quickly became apparent that it was referencing the photo of the Trummer's dining room in the Nov. 22 edition of the Post.

The photo at the bottom of the article seems innocent, but the couple in the back — a man drinking his wine with a woman whose face is obscured by her hair — are the pair the anonymous woman was describing.

"It reminds me to remind viewers too, that people have the expectation of privacy when going out in public places like restaurants," Sietsema told Inside Edition. "But that doesn't really exist."
