Woman accuses husband of cheating after he has dinner with a female friend: ‘Selfish’
A man is in the hot seat with his wife because she accused him of cheating with a female friend.
He asked Reddit’s “Relationships” to weigh in. His wife is completing her residency, so she doesn’t have much free time and when she does, she’s exhausted. Frustrated that she never wanted to go out, he impulsively made plans with the only friend available, an old female friend. When his wife found out, she accused him of cheating.

“I have talked to her about this so many times, saying I miss going out, but she is never ready to go out and eat. Yesterday, I had enough of this, and while she was working, I went out to eat,” he explained.
“One of my friends, who has recently been divorced, was the only one available, so I asked her, and we went out to eat. I knew her even before my wife, but we never had any romantic relationship, and even my wife is well aware of this.”
After the outing, he told his wife that he had gone out to eat. At first, she was supportive, but when she learned which friend it was, she became furious.
“She started crying, screaming at the top of her voice and saying, ‘I am a cheater,’ which was not the case,” he wrote.
“As she was not stopping, I left to let her clear her mind, but when I returned after a few hours, she wouldn’t let me in or let me talk to her. She even called my friend and fought with her about how she was not trying to steal me.”
Redditors felt he handled the optics of the situation poorly.
“The fact that your question is how to make her see your side rather than asking how to fix your marriage makes you seem selfish,” a user wrote.
“You could’ve discussed with her before hand, or heck went out by yourself. You chose to do this out of frustration with your wife,” another said.
“Trying to see her side and well it sounds like it was a date. You went to a nice place, just the two of you. Don’t be stupid,” someone added.
