Woman accidentally crashes her car through boba shop in Washington
The owner of a boba shop in Puyallup, Washington, is asking for donations to help fund her employees after a car crashed through her storefront on Monday.
Two women and a toddler were sitting at a table in Melody Boba House at Puyallup on Monday when a car came crashing through the windows closest to them at 2:36 p.m.
In surveillance footage, one woman can be seen jumping out of the way and grabbing the toddler while the other woman is stuck between the store counter and car.
“She was pinned for a couple seconds and then the car backed out a little bit, so there was a tiny little gap for her to get out,” Melody Choe, the shop owner, told KIRO-TV. “We had some bystanders that were around here, and they came to her rescue.”

Police said the elderly woman driving the car accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. She was reportedly not cited.
The woman who was pinned was brought to a hospital. She is now at home and in stable condition. The other individuals at the scene, including the store employees, were not injured in the incident.
As the bubble tea store is currently closed for restoration, Choe started a GoFundMe page to help support her employees whose only source of income comes from working at her boba store.

“Our employees are the most hard working, positive and lovely people,” Choe wrote in the description for the fundraiser. “We would really hate to see them go through any hardship from this incident.”
“We’re not sure how long the store will have to be closed and would really appreciate any donations to help us pay our employees and pay for some of the damages and expenses until we can open back up,” she added.
