Woman, 53, dies following crash involving motorcycles and pickup truck in Ionia County
EASTON TWP. — An Ionia County woman died at Sparrow Hospital following a crash involving two motorcycles and a pickup truck Sunday north of Ionia.
The crash happened about 7:30 p.m. on M-66, near Hall Road.
The Ionia County Sheriff's Office said two motorcyclists from Saginaw were slowing to turn into a driveway when a pickup driven by an Ionia man hit them from behind.
A passenger on one of the motorcycles – a 53-year-old woman from Orleans Township – was airlifted to Sparrow in Lansing, where she later died, officials said. The men driving the motorcycles suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The three people riding on the bikes were all wearing helmets, officials said. The crash remained under investigation.
