It's that time of the year where the run of holidays means religious gatherings, music recitals, family dinners, fireworks and shopping and gifts galore. Between those moments, we've compiled a list of a holiday events happening in and around Savannah sure to make those moments sweeter and merrier.

December

Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens' 2021 December Nights and Holiday Lights: 6-9 p.m. Through Dec. 24; The holiday lights will be hosted as a drive-thru. Tickets are $25 per family or car and can be purchased at the entrance and Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens gift shop. All proceeds support the staff and garden.

Asbury Memorial Church Candlelight Christmas Eve Service and Caroling: 6 p.m. Dec. 24. 1008 E. Henry St. The church will host its regular Sunday morning worship service at 11:15 a.m. on Dec. 26. Directly following the candlelight Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24, guests are invited to join the Asbury Memorial congregation for caroling in the neighborhood.

Fight the War Within Christmas Dinner: 5-8 p.m. Dec. 25. 3003 Rowland Ave. The all-volunteer nonprofit organization will provide free meals catered by The Dive Savannah. The purpose of this dinner is to provide a place where people can come together, from all walks of life, with a meal and sense of fellowship during the holiday season.

Savannah Jazz's Annual Christmas Jam Concert: 5-7 p.m. Dec. 25. Plant Riverside District's Salzburg Ballroom, 400 W. River St.; For 39 years this show has featured jazz legends who come home for the holidays and join the Savannah Jazz Allstars for a holiday performance and jam session. Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the door and can be purchased

Christmas Train: 5:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. Dec. 25 through Jan. 5; 5610 Lafitte Drive.

Davenport House Museum Holiday Evening Tours by Candlelight: 6-8 p.m. Dec. 26-30; 324 E. State St. The open-house style tour highlights the end-of-year celebrations of early 19th century Savannahians, including the Davenport household. Light refreshments will be served and music and interpreters are some of the highlights. Admission varies. A combination pass for the daily tour and the holiday evening tour can be purchased for $16. davenporthousemuseum.org.
