Wis. Prep Report: Northwood/Solon Springs baseball rolls over Shell Lake
May 11—Northwood/Solon Springs baseball improved to 5-1 on the season Monday via an 11-1 home win over Shell Lake in five innings.
Collin Krmpotich and Abe Ahlberg both went 3-for-4 at the plate with three runs scored. Krmpotich had a triple and three RBIs while Ahlberg had a double. Tanner Carlson also drove in two runs.
On the mound, Ben Monson gave up three hits and one earned run with five walks and seven strikeouts. He also drove in two runs at the plate.
In softball, Northwood/Solon Springs defeated Shell Lake 6-1 to improve to 7-0 on the season.
Superior baseball sweeps Ashland
Kaden Kimmes led the Spartans to a pair of 15-5 and 8-1 victories over Ashland on Monday at home.
Kimmes went 2-for-4 in the six-inning 15-5 opening win with two runs scored and three RBIs. He was also credited as the winning pitcher after throwing two innings of relief. In the second game, he batted 2-for-2 with a run scored and two RBIs.
