Winners of six in a row, Ole Miss hosts New Orleans

Nov. 30—OXFORD — After a clean sweep at the Raising the B.A.R. Invitational, the Ole Miss women's basketball team will try to keep its winning streak intact against New Orleans Wednesday morning at 11 at SJB Pavilion.

The Rebels (6-1) have won six games in a row since an opening loss to Belmont, the last two coming against San Diego State and Cal in the Raising the B.A.R. title game. During their current six-game win streak, the Rebels have won each contest by an average of just under 25 points per game.

Ole Miss currently boasts the top scoring defense in the SEC and the No. 16 group in college basketball, surrendering just 49.4 points per game. Offensively, the Rebels are led by senior center Shakira Austin and sophomore forward Madison Scott, who are averaging 13.3 points and 12 points per game, respectively.

New Orleans (1-4) averages just 47.2 points per game offensively, which ranks 340th nationally. The Privateers are led in scoring by guard Brianna Ellis, who averages 15.5 points per game. Ole Miss has won eight of the nine all-time meetings with New Orleans.
