Windsurfer rescued from Chilson Pond after becoming tangled in rope
HAMBURG TWP. — Emergency personnel rescued a windsurfer from Chilson Pond at the Brighton State Recreation Area after he became tangled in a rope.
"An individual that was windsurfing today out on Chilson Pond, fell off and got his leg tangled up in the safety rope," Hamburg Fire Chief Nick Miller said. "It prevented him from being able to get out of the water. Some people on shore were able to hear him to help us out. We went out there and got him untangled and down to the shore. No injuries."
In addition to Hamburg Fire Department personnel, Hamburg Police, the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, Livingston County EMS and Michigan DNR officials also were at the scene.
