Wilson grad Molly Reinhart leads West Chester to PSAC women's lacrosse championship
May 9—Molly Reinhart has turned the season she almost lost into a championship.
The all-conference defender helped West Chester defeat Seton Hill 19-8 in the PSAC women's lacrosse final at Vonnie Gros Field Sunday.
Reinhart was named tournament MVP. The honor came about 15 months after the Wilson grad suffered a torn ACL in her right knee.
At the time of the injury, Reinhart thought her college career was over. She decided to use her fifth year of eligibility after COVID-19 canceled sports last spring.
West Chester (13-0), which is ranked No. 4 nationally, almost didn't have a season. Spring sports were canceled in October before the university reversed course a month later.
The Golden Rams made the most of the opportunity. They roared through the PSAC playoffs with two wins by a combined 17 goals.
Gov. Mifflin grad Hannah Stanislawczyk, a second team All-PSAC selection, had four goals and two assists in the final.
Exeter's Lexi Einsig, an All-PSAC second team pick, and Mifflin's Claire Dennis also started on defense for West Chester.
Reinhart, who was preseason All-America, caused three turnovers and helped hold Seton Hill to its lowest scoring total of the season.
