Wild bringing 54 players to training camp on Thursday

Sep. 21—After a long offseason, the Wild are set to hit the ice for training camp on Thursday morning at TRIA Rink in downtown St. Paul.

This marks the start of a new era for the Wild as longtime faces of the franchise Zach Parise and Ryan Suter are no longer a part of the team.

There will be 54 players in attendance to start training camp. It shouldn't take the Wild long to start cutting down on that number.

The newest name on the list of attendees is Calder Trophy winner Kirill Kaprizov, who agreed to a five-year, $45 million contract with the Wild on Tuesday night. The young Russian star was not on the training camp roster earlier in the day, before committing to his new deal.
