Wichita County health district reports nine COVID-19 deaths Monday

The Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District reported nine deaths and 841 new COVID-19 cases Monday.

The deaths include one person in their 30s, three in their 40s, one in their 50s, two in their 60s and two in their 80s.

The report Monday covers cases and deaths that were reported Saturday and Sunday.

Currently, 87 people are hospitalized related to the virus.

There are 3,353 active COVID-19 cases in the county with 2,763 of them in Wichita Falls.

According to the Department of State Health Services, there were just over 54,000 new COVID-19 cases reported Monday in Texas.

The health department is reminding citizens that there is a late-hours immunization clinic on the fourth Monday of each month until 6:30 p.m. The late-hours clinic this month will be Jan. 24.

Call the clinic for a vaccine appointment at 940-761-6841. COVID-19 and flu vaccines are offered by appointment or walk-in.
