Fans are thanking Whitney Port for opening up about her recent miscarriage and using her platform to share “difficult conversations.”

The Hills: New Beginnings star, 34, released an emotional episode of her podcast “With Whit” on Tuesday — in which she sat down with her husband Tim Rosenman to get candid about her feelings when she first found out she was pregnant and after suffering the miscarriage.

In her podcast, she explained how she felt “ashamed” and “guilty” for having reservations about having a baby. Port and Rosenman share a son, Sonny, who turns 2 on Saturday.

“I didn’t want to tell you, and I remember being in the car on the way to the hospital and saying it to myself in my head, and being like ‘Can I even say this to Timmy?’” she said to Rosenman in the podcast. “‘Is he going to be so hurt and think I’m such a terrible person for even thinking this?’”

Port, who said she miscarried two weeks ago, went on to say that “the whole thing is just traumatic.”

“It’s traumatic to think about your body going through this and something being in you that could have been someone like a Sonny,” she said. “I feel sad.”

Port posted a teaser for her podcast on Instagram and explained how she has felt a rollercoaster of emotions, “from shock to sadness to relief,” but accepts that her feelings are valid.

“My identity has been shaken in regards to who as a mom and human being,” she wrote in her post. “I’m currently in the process of learning to accept that my feelings are valid no matter what they are. Whether or not people feel the same way as me or not. They are my personal emotions that are the result from my own journey.”

In her podcast, Port said she wanted to tell people about her miscarriage because then “you have this army of friends and family that’s there for you and can talk you through it.”

Fans immediately responded to her post, many sharing their own miscarriage stories and thanking her for being “real” and “open.”

“This is a topic that so rarely is talked about. So many women experience miscarriages and we are felt alone because we think we are the only ones who have gone thru it...“ One person wrote. “Thank you for bringing this up and being raw honest about it.”

“Whit, thank you for sharing and continuing to normalize normal emotions!” another added. “You’re so strong and you’re in our thoughts!”

Another fan lauded Port, writing “Your vulnerability and authenticity touches my soul. You’re right, it’s okay to be sad and feel every wave of feeling.”
