White Marlin Open catch of the day: A truly gigantic tuna wows the crowd

of big fish were reeled in on day 1 of the 2022 White Marlin Open, but one giant one towered over all the others.

It was all about tuna on day 1, and Michael Jordan's boat took the early lead.

The boat brought three bigeye tuna to the scales, and two of them found themselves in the top three of the division. Dante Soriente's 198.5-pound catch made him the new leader in the hotly contested division. Also aboard MJ's was J.D Messler, who found himself in third place at the time with his own 161.5-pound bigeye tuna.

But right after MJ's left the scales, Reel Tight came in and took their spot atop the tuna leaderboard. With a 213.5-pound bigeye caught by Brian Stewart, Reel Tight wowed the crowd at Harbour Island Marina and catapulted to the top of the competitive tuna division on Day 1.

And here is Stewart's epic catch, the big winner as we head into day 2.
