White Castle and Puma Collaborated on Slider-Inspired Shoes

White Castle may not be America's largest burger chain, but they have plenty to hang their hat on -- including inventing the original "slider" and claiming the title of America's first fast food burger chain. In fact, this year marks White Castle's 100th anniversary, and along with other celebrations throughout 2021, the chain has announced a special collaboration for some limited-edition apparel: This Friday, don't miss your chance to grab Puma x White Castle gear.

The collection -- which, beyond shoes, will also feature a hoodie, shorts, and a series of co-branded graphic T-shirts -- "borrows inspiration from White Castle's iconic square Sliders and instantly recognizable packaging to transform classic Puma silhouettes and apparel," the sports brand explained in the announcement.

Needless to say, shoes tend to be the hottest ticket for unexpected collabs, and Puma x White Castle arrives with two footwear options: the classic Puma Suede and the Future Rider. "Both silhouettes boast White Castle's familiar blue-and-white color palette with striking blue accents, bright pops of orange, co-branded detailing, including images of the famous castle, and contrast stitching for a fresh, new look," Puma states.

As for the other items, the hoodie is stark white with both a blue White Castle logo and an orange Puma logo, along with the "What You Crave" motto running down the right sleeve, and -- as a small but thoughtful touch -- orange aglets on the hood laces. The athletic shorts are available in both blue and black. And the T-shirts come in a mix of designs with the base colors of black, blue, orange, or white.

All the items -- with price tags between $35 and $90 -- will arrive on June 25 with pretty wide availability: Puma says to look for these items "at Puma.com, at the Puma NYC flagship store and in store and online at the Foot Looker Inc. family of brands, including Foot Locker, Champs, Footaction and Eastbay."

Still, that doesn't necessarily mean that these limited-edition items won't go fast. However, if you're seeing this too late, don't worry: Puma also says its work with White Castle isn't done. A second collection is slated for release in September: "More details will be available soon."
