BLOOMINGTON NORTH INVITATIONAL

BLOOMINGTON SOUTH (4-1): Panthers beat Bloomington North 60-18, Columbus North 41-28, Martinsville 47-30 and West Washington 63-18 and lost to No. 3 Center Grove, 57-13. Top individuals — 106: #7 Cam Meier 5-0, 3 pins; 113: Wayne Harden 4-1, 4 pins; 126: Wyatt Cooksey 4-1, 3 pins; 132: Miles Libby, 4-1, 2 pins; 152: #7 Evan Roudebush 5-0, 4 pins; 170: #1 Delaney Ruhlman 5-0, 4 pins. Center Grove came in with nine state ranked wrestlers. Ruhlman beat No. 5 Noah Clouser of CG, 4-0 while Roudebush beat CG's Silas Stilts, who is ranked 12th at 145, 3-1. Only losses for Harden, Cooksey, Libby were to state ranked opponents. Brayton Turner (120), Hunter Fender (145), Drew Chandler (195), Oliver Piwoszin (220) all went 3-2.

BLOOMINGTON NORTH (1-4): Cougars to Bloomington South 60-18, No. 3 Center Grove 78-0, Columbus North 66-18 and Martinsville 57-24 and defeated West Washington 53-30. Top wrestlers were Jeremiah Casillas, 2-1 at 152 and 2-0 at 160. He had four pins and his only loss was to Center Grove's Stilts. Cael Hickok was 1-2 at 170 and 2-0 at 182. He had 2 pins.

BLOOMINGTON NORTH 76, CASTLE 56: Cougars climb to 2-1 with bounce-back win on the road.

NORTH PUTNAM 57, EDGEWOOD 54 (OT): Cougars find a way after trailing 26-15 at halftime and by 11 in the fourth quarter, tying the game at 48 at the end of regulation and ruling in overtime to get the WIC win. Huge breakout games for sophomores Carl Norris, who has career high 18 points and six rebounds, and Carson Huttenlocker, with a career best 12 points after hitting three 3s. Mialin White adds nine points.

EASTERN GREENE 46, MITCHELL 44: T-Birds (3-1) trailed 25-16 at halftime before finding its offense. Still down eight heading into the fourth they used a stunning 15-5 rally to forge a win. It was January 14 before Eastern Greene won its third game of the season last year.

EDGEWOOD 59, NORTH PUTNAM 57: Mustangs pull off the WIC road upset in dramatic fashion going 13-of-17 at the line in the fourth quarter to hang. The Cougars (8-3, 2-1) hit four 3s in the fourth to rally, but Madi Bland (11 points) led the parade to the stripe with a 7-of-10 performance in the final period and Macey Crider had 11 of her team high 17 points after Edgewood (3-7, 3-3) took a 36-31 lead into the fourth. Jaylen Robinson hit four 3s to finish with 12 points while Alayna Flynn added 10 points.

BLOOMINGTON 368, TERRE HAUTE 207: Bloomington's combined North-South forces came out on top again in the Sister Cities Meet at Bloomington South. South's Anna Asplund won three events, taking the 200 free (1:59.01), 100 butterfly (1:03.21) and 100 freestyle (55.73). North's Lucy Mitchell won the 100 IM (1:06.90) and 50 breaststroke (33.39). South's Kenda Thompson won the 50 backstroke (31.29), Alex Eakin took the 500 free (5:20.59) and Harper Eakin won the 100 back (1:06.54). South's Carina Jacobson was the top diver with 222.60 points. Bloomington swept the relays, winning the 200 MR (Mitchell, Tait, Grace Nelson, Ella deWeber) in 2:01.60, 200 FR (deWeber, Tait, Mitchell, Nelson) in 1:49.75 and 400 FR (Adrianna Terry, H.Eakin, Helena Lehr, Asplund) in 4:04.19.

Boys' swimming

BLOOMINGTON 380, TERRE HAUTE 256: South's David Kovacs and Lukas Paegle helped lead Bloomington to victory again in the Sister Cities Meet at Bloomington South. Kovacs won the 100 IM (52.48), 100 fly (50.67) and 50 breast (28.52). Paegle took the 200 free (1:47.89), 50 back (25.38) and 50 fly (23.66). Kian Kadlec won the 500 free (5:05.49 and 100 back (58.30). Gabe Arthur was also a runner-up in three events, 200 free, 100 fly and 100 back. Michael Tierney won diving with a 215.50. Bloomington also took all three relays, taking the 200MR (Kovacs, Will Foley, Arthur, Wyatt Post) in 1:43.91; 200FR (Post, Leo Nelson, Sam Dixon, Paegle) in 1:35.94 and the 400 FR (Dixon, Paegle, Post, Kovacs) in 3:31.03.

Girls' basketball

EDGEWOOD 44, CLOVERDALE 17: Mustangs figure it out defensively in WIC win, holding Clovers to just three field goals. Madi Bland had 12 points to lead Edgewood (2-7, 2-3), which led 23-7 at halftime. Alayna Flynn added 10 points and Ally Bland eight. It's the third year in a row Edgewood has held Cloverdale under 20 points. Emily Mann had 12 points for the Clovers (0-8, 0-3), who were just 11-of-27 at the line.

SOUTHPORT 67, BLOOMINGTON NORTH 57: Lela Scott had 20 points and Kassie McMasters 19 as the Cards made hay at the foul line, going 17-of-27 in the CI win. North (5-3, 0-1) was just 5-of-13. Southport (5-4, 2-2) overcame a slow start, turning a 15-10 deficit in to a 32-29 lead by halftime and finishing it off with a strong fourth. Mia Robbennolt had 17 points for the Cougars, who have dropped eight of their last 10 against Southport, while Kenli Sullivan had 12, and Mallory Barrow, Ava Reitmeyer eight each.

INDIAN CREEK 76, OWEN VALLEY 47: Indiana University recruit Faith Wiseman put on a show in the decisive third quarter, scoring 18 of her game high 31 points for the Class 3A No. 3 Braves. It's the most points OV has given up since an 83-48 loss to Bishop Chatard in the 2014 regional. Indian Creek (8-0, 2-0) led 36-22 at the break and hit the Patriots (4-4, 2-2) with a 25-10 run in the third, to put an end to Wiseman's night. Lauren Foster added 25 points for IC. Reagan Martin had 21 points OV while Madison Kay had nine.

EDGEWOOD 56, CLOVERDALE 37: Joe West and Jacob Boggs got the Mustangs off to a quick 18-4 start in the first quarter and they cruised to the WIC win. West finished with 13 points and Boggs 11 after they combined for 13 in the opening frame. Mialin White had 10 points and Carl Norris eight in a balanced effort for Edgewood (1-2, 1-0), which led 30-16 at half. White added six rebounds, three assists and four steals and Kam Ranard tallied eight boards.

EASTERN GREENE 68, BROWN COUNTY 22: T-Birds rule the roost from start to finish, leading 29-9 at halftime and finishing it off with a 23-point fourth quarter to bury the Eagles (0-3).

TERRE HAUTE SOUTH 61, EDGEWOOD 13: Nine pins, three in the third period, lifted the Braves to the dual meet win. Winners for Edgewood were John Orman with a 13-2 major at 113 pounds; Landon Clement, 7-5 at 132; No. 5 Cash Turner by fall (:55) at 145.

BLOOMINGTON SOUTH 40, TERRE HAUTE NORTH 29: The Panthers did well defensively all night and went on a 13-4 run in the fourth quarter to break open a tight game and claim another CI victory. Carlie Pedersen fueled a strong second quarter with nine of her game high 14 points on three 3-pointers. That turned a 9-6 deficit into a 21-17 halftime lead for South (4-3, 2-0). Caitlin Heim and Mya Lawrence added eight points each. Hallie Hayes had 10 points for the Patriots (4-5, 0-1).

LINTON 57, EASTERN GREENE 28: All Miners after the first quarter in this SWIAC battle to win back Greene County Keg. It was just a 12-10 game at one point before Linton took charge with a 13-4 run to go up 25-16 at half. Linton (8-0, 3-0) finished it off by holding the T-Birds (6-2, 1-1) to just 12 points in the second half. The Miners are allowing just 32 ppg.

SEYMOUR 54, BLOOMINGTON SOUTH 39: Seymour shook off a slow start while the Panthers never did. The Owls (6-0) led just 19-13 at halftime and put up 19 points in the third quarter alone to go up 38-24. Carlie Pedersen had 11 points and Caitlin Heim nine for South (3-3), which was shooting 79% at the line on the season, but hit just 8-of-16. Brooke Trinkle had 20 points and Kendall Sterling had 18 for Seymour.

COLUMBUS EAST 71, BLOOMINGTON NORTH 49: Indiana State-bound senior Sage Stahl was a bit too much, recording a 39-point, 11-rebound, five-steal masterpiece to lead the Olympians to the surprisingly lopsided rout. Stahl was 11-of-12 at the line and didn't make a single 3. She had 19 in the first half as Columbus East (5-4) went up 34-19. Mia Robbennolt had 20 points for North (5-2), going 8-of-9 at the line, while Ava Reitmeyer had 12. Cougars are at Southport for Friday.

LINTON 49, OWEN VALLEY 15: Sydney Jerrells had 18 points to keep the Miners (7-0, 1-0) undefeated heading into a home SWIAC showdown with Eastern Greene (6-1, 1-0) on Thursday. Patriots fall to 4-3.

MARTINSVILLE TABERNACLE 57, LIGHTHOUSE CHRISTIAN 41: Lions, down to just five players due to injury and illness and without both its point guards were crushed by a 22-2 start. LCA (0-5) did get untracked offensively in the second half, but it was too late after Tabernacle took a 36-12 lead by halftime. Abagail Rousey led Lighthouse with 24 points while Victoria Mann had eight. Annie Sichting poured in 33 points for Tabernacle Christian, 18 coming in the first quarter.

The Eagles had just four points in the final period. Will Wickman added 14 points for LCA (2-0), while Levi Hamlin had nine and Carson Jones and Brock Banks had eight each. LCA will play its home opener vs. Eminence on Dec. 5.
