Joyce, please tell us a little about yourself, your family, and how Wiggle Buttz Pet Services came about?

“My husband Frank Rome and I are both local to the area, as Guernsey County residents, and we have four grown children, four grandchildren, plus three fur babies. We both have been employed in management for most of our careers, but at the beginning of the COVID epidemic in 2020, we saw an ad for a mobile grooming salon, and both knew it would be something I would love to do. At that time, we investigated what would be needed, and in turn purchased a van. The vehicle was converted to a mobile dog grooming unit at Hanvey in South Carolina. I then attended grooming school in Canton and graduated with a State of Ohio grooming certificate. In our spare time, we enjoy hiking and cornhole.”

What services does Wiggle Buttz Pet Services offer?

“Wiggle Buttz Pet Services travels within a 40-mile radius of Cambridge, and offers a mobile grooming service to your and your dogs. There is no more caging your beloved pet and driving them to a destination where you may wait several hours to be able to pick them up again. In addition, being dog owners ourselves, we know the stresses fur babies experience when being out of their familiar surroundings, plus listening to other babies barking because they are feeling the same way.

"I understand these worries firsthand, and wish to eliminate this, as I come right to your door and get your fur baby and you can use the time to get a project done or just enjoy some quiet time knowing your dog is in the best of hands. My doggie clients enjoy the individual attention, and they can look right out the van windows and see their beloved home. If the dog is anxious, I do my best to make sure they feel safe and comfortable, and that is why of some of our grooms may take a little longer on our first couple of visits. Another benefit is the animal getting use to my familiar face each time, and Spa Day quickly becomes something they look forward to.

"We offer a myriad of services to cover the health and safety needs of your pet. Our amenities are little more expensive then taking your dog to a brick-and-mortar groomer, but that is because of the convenience we offer to you, and your pride and joy.

"Prices are based on the breed, size, and condition of the coat. There are surplus services you may request above the standard packages we offer to customers. In addition to a standard groom/hair cut, you can add on ear cleaning, ear hair plucking, flea/tick shampoo, nail trim/file grinding, and teeth brushing. For those stylish divas, we also offer nail painting.”

What would you like to highlight for us?

“Our own fur babies were a deciding factor in us starting Wiggle Buttz Pet Care business, and we are so pleased to offer an advantage you may only see in larger cities. I have always loved animals, and I am so blessed to be able to make a career change that allows me to love my job every single day. Our appointments are flexible as I build my clientele. Since opening my business on Sept. 16 of this year, I have gained many repeat customers by word of mouth and our Facebook page. I keep the Facebook page active, and show off my doggie clients often..

"One dream I have once I grow the business and am able to do so, is to visit some of the area shelters and set up my mobile van to bath the doggies waiting for a new home. They deserve to be pampered too, and be looking sharp when being considered by a prospective family.

"This is truly the profession meant for me. Frank will continue working full-time in his career, but I plan to spend my time loving on as many doggies as I can. My goal is to make your life easier and your dog’s less stressful, and have an exciting occupation while doing so.

"Wiggle Buttz does not have the equipment to groom cats, but as the business takes off, I may possibly offer these additional services in the future.

"I do accept several different payment methods and those are listed on

our website. There is exciting news for those of you in search of a Christmas

present for that dog lover in your life, we do offer gift certificates.

"Statistics say 73% of Americans own a dog, and assuring they are well-

groomed is crucial to their well-being and health. Mobile grooming is the key

to having a relaxing and care-free experience for your dog. Remember with

Wiggle Buttz, there is no crating and transportation – you can go about your

day while your pet is being groomed. Your life and your dog’s will be

much more convenient and less time consuming with our mobile grooming

station. The fur baby is getting individual attention all while

being able to see their home. What doggie wouldn’t enjoy a SPA Day under these

circumstances?"
