West St. Paul to host open house on Annapolis Street reconstruction

Dec. 6—West St. Paul will host an open house on Tuesday about the planned reconstruction of Annapolis Street.

West St. Paul and St. Paul plan to improve the pavement, storm sewers and storm water management of the street, which runs along the border of the two cities. Annapolis Street will be reconstructed from Minnesota Highway 52 to Smith Avenue. Bike lanes may also be added as part of project.

The project would be the first major reconstruction of the street since the 1960s.

Work will be broken up into two phases in 2023 and 2024. Key components of the project will be improvements to the Charlton-Dodd-Annapolis intersection and curb bump outs.

The open house Tuesday will run from 5 to 7 p.m. in the city council chambers at West St. Paul City Hall, 1616 Humboldt Ave. There will be two more public forums in 2022 and residents can fill out a survey on the West St. Paul website to give feedback.
