Welcome back, Le'Veon Bell: Running back scores in Jets debut
It’s been 602 days since Le’Veon Bell last played an NFL game, when he was with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The All-Pro back is in uniform once again, now with the New York Jets, and not surprisingly is making a quick impression with his new teammates and fans.
Touchdown and 2-pointer
On third-and-goal from the 9 midway through the third quarter, Jets second-year quarterback Sam Darnold found Bell on an out route for a touchdown, the first offensive points of the game for New York. (The defense had scored eight points with a pick-six by C.J. Moseley and safety.)
The touchdown was a pretty standard play.

The two-point conversion that followed, however, had a higher degree of difficulty.
Bell motioned from the backfield to the near right slot, and pressure came quickly for Darnold, in the form of Buffalo Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes. Darnold scrambled toward the right sideline but then spun back toward the middle of the field.
By the time Darnold threw up a pass toward the back right corner of the end zone he was at the 19, pushed back 17 yards from the line of scrimmage, but Bell was right where he needed to be, jumping to pull in the ball and put the Jets up 16-0 at the time.
