Weekly concert series at McCandless Crossing expands to 2 nights, new canopy tent installed for shows

Jun. 15—The free summer concert series at the McCandless Crossing shopping center has been expanded to two nights a week this year and a new canopy tent is being erected to provide shade and allow shows to go on rain or shine.

Concerts are held at the shopping center's Town Green from 6 to 8 p.m.

More than 30 regional artists, bands and musicians are scheduled to perform through Sept. 23.

"We're excited to grow our summer concert schedule," said Kevin Dougherty, president of the AdVenture Development, which operates the shopping center.

"We appreciate the community'ssupport of local musical talent, and this year we look forward to offering a wide range of musical genres — from rock and country to polka and jazz."

Guests should bring their own chairs and blankets.
