Weekend gun show in Cambridge features 127 exhibitors, NRA table

The Cambridge Gun Show hosted by Heritage Gun Show returns to the Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center this weekend. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

The show, which started in 2008, is held several times a year and the next one is scheduled for Oct. 15-16.

Heritage Gun Show owner Lydia Maurer said there will a table set up for attendees to learn more about what the NRA supports along with a variety of people of buying and selling items.

"A lot of people come just to buy things," Maurer said. "People will have tables set up just for purchasing things that people bring in so that's a good opportunity for that."

The event will feature 127 exhibitors.

Maurer also said there would be a lot of ammunitions for sale and there will be people there with historical items or unique pieces that can't be find elsewhere because they are in private collections.

"The big thing is coming to shows like this can support gun rights and it's a good community where a lot of people know each other just from coming to the gun shows," Maurer said. "It's building the camaraderie of that community of people ... and sometimes there are local sports groups there so that's a good way to get involved in that community."

Maurer noted the show typically brings in more than 1,000 attendees over the course of the two days. All federal, state and local firearm ordinances and laws must be obeyed and no photography will be permitted

Anyone with firearms brought into the show will be checked by officers from the Cambridge Police Department to ensure the gun is unloaded and a cable tie will be put through the action to prevent the gun from being loaded while in the building.

General admission for attendees age 13 and older is $6, children 12 and under are free.

Those who opt the join the NRA (National Rifle Association) or renew their membership at the show will be admitted free.

Spaces and tables are available for anyone interested in setting up at the gun show for $50. This is an increase of $10 from previous years. Fees can be sent electronically through Venmo to @Lydia-Maurer-1.
