I love the holiday season in Palm Beach County. We get the best of all worlds — the beautiful displays, the fun family events and the general good mood of people all over ... but without the sub-zero temperatures.

And the season brings out the best in you and others in the county.

How do I know that?

Well, for the 26th straight year, The Palm Beach Post has run an annual charity campaign called Season to Share. Our newsroom compiles stories of those most in need and asks people to donate to help their cause.

We've helped raise $15 million since we started this. And this year, despite the ongoing pandemic, and rising costs of things, you are showing why Palm Beach County is not only one of the biggest counties in Florida, but also one with the biggest heart.

The day after reporter Kati Kokal wrote a story about a veteran who'd been homeless and lost almost all his teeth, three dentists contacted us at The Post and volunteered to fix his teeth for free. And calls and emails keep coming in from all over to help the other people and families we wrote about.

It makes me proud of the people in this newsroom who work long hours — and often weekends and holidays — just so they can tell these kinds of stories that have a direct and immediate impact.

And speaking of telling stories, The Post also is putting together something called The Storytellers Project, in which we'll host a series of nights at a local venue and ask people who live and work in Palm Beach County to tell their amazing stories to an audience of fellow residents.

Because, after all, everyone has a story to tell.

Speaking of telling stories, we do that every day, 365 days a year. Below are just a small sample of some we've told recently.

So enjoy. And remember, we've been through a lot this year, so enjoy the holidays!
